Safeguarding Policy

When working with children and families, safety is always the starting point. Sometimes, concerns may arise about the wellbeing or safety of a child.

In the Netherlands, I work according to the Meldcode Huiselijk Geweld en Kindermishandeling — the national reporting code for domestic violence and child abuse. This code provides a structured way to respond carefully and responsibly to possible signs of unsafe situations at home or within a family.

The first step within this process is to observe and record any signals of concern. Based on this, a careful assessment is made of what support may be needed and which steps are appropriate.
