Children, adolescents and parents – Bureau Fleur

Children, adolescents and parents

Parenting is not meant to prevent problems. It is meant to help children and adolescents grow into independent, thoughtful and self-confident adults.

Sometimes you worry. About behaviour, emotions, anger, withdrawal, anxiety or insecurity. Sometimes there has been a loss or a major change. And sometimes it simply feels as though things have become stuck.

I work with children, adolescents and parents on questions related to development, behaviour and emotional functioning, especially when things feel more complex, or when previous support has not quite been enough.

In my practice, we work at a calm and careful pace.We take the time to understand what is happening, both within the child and within the wider family. The focus is not only on the behaviour itself, but also on the context in which it arises.

How I can help

Depending on the support question, I work with conversation-based guidance, cognitive behavioural therapy, writing or drawing, mindfulness exercises, solution-focused work and evidence-based programmes. The approach always depends on individual needs and preferences.

Coping with loss, grief and major changes

For example after a death, a divorce or another major life event. We work on processing what has happened and regaining balance.

Dealing with emotions and conflict at home

When emotions escalate quickly or patterns become stuck. We explore what lies beneath the anger or sadness and strengthen the skills needed to cope with it.

Coping with worry and anxiety

For worries, social insecurity or school-related stress. We work on insight, self-regulation and confidence.

Building self-esteem and confidence

For children and adolescents who often doubt themselves. The focus is on strengthening self-worth and a sense of competence.

Parenting questions and complex family dynamics

For parents who notice that patterns have become stuck. Focused on practical guidance as well as joint reflection.
